Nancy Flanagan
Nancy achieved National Board Certification in 1998 as an Early Adolescence Generalist, although she spent my entire classroom career teaching K-12 music in the Hartland Consolidated Schools. Nancy worked for two years as a Teacher in Residence for the National Board. She was part of the national team that created the NBPTS Music certificate, and as part of that work, was a benchmarker and scorer for the first NBPTS music portfolios and assessment exercises. She joined with 15 other NBCTs in creating the National Board's Candidate Support Provider training, and delivered that training in 30+ states. Nancy is now retired and lives in Cedar, MI. Her blog--Teacher in a Strange Land--appears in Education Week's Teacher magazine.
